Cultural Heritage and sacred Sites: World Heritage from an Indigenous perspective
A Panel Discussion

On March 21, 2002, a CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS ON SACRED SITES AND CULTURAL HERITAGE ISSUES went out to world Indigenous communities. A brief outline of a case involving a site sacred to the Indigenous Community which needs more attention or is currently the subject of legal litigation was requested by a working group of the NGO Committee on the UN International Decade of the World's Indigenous Peoples. The compilation of these 30 submissions was given during the Panel event on May 15, 2002 and will be presented along with a final report of the Panel Discussion to the Members of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
