Filming of the Indigenous
presence in the global community began in 1991 and continued parallel to
the first International Decade of the World's Indigenous People
(1995-2004). A number of production teams on several continents gathered
Indigenous voices; documented dialogues, interviews, global
mega-conferences, parallel events; produced a body of related multimedia
resources and acquisitions in multiple languages to form an archive of
content which includes video, audio, photography, documents, slide
presentations and a website.
The e-learning component of the project has been presented at a number
of international distance education conferences in Canada, Mexico,
Venezuela, and Spain. Multimedia programs were installed for public
viewing at the Canadian Museum of Civilization (Hull, Quebec 1993-94)
and the Barcelona Universal Forum of Cultures (2004).
The work has now evolved into a unique asset, an archive of material
with potential for creating collaborative partnerships in action.
Dragonfly Blue Productions Inc, a private sector diversified media
company based in Vancouver, Canada has developed a Plan of Action for
the next ten years, the second International Decade of the World's
Indigenous People (2005-2014), in order to ensure the return of those
voices to these same communities using information and communications
technology. |
